I created a consulting company to offer services to teachers that help cultivate their potential through collaboration. The purpose of GIFT is the give teachers a risk-free free environment where they are an active part of their development. The company provides the teacher with professional learning experiences and coaching tailored to their expressed needs. The company has also provided tutoring services for students, webinars and online professional development courses.
During the summer of 2010, I was selected to be a part of a group of presenters to provide teachers with hands-on, minds-on training to help prepare them for the upcoming school year.
My former DES co-teacher and I provided professional development to the teachers in Rockdale County on the various co-teaching models.
The district asked to video my classroom and our use of the Edmodo platform with students. After the filiming of the video, my principal asked me to provide teachers at the school with a session about the platform.
K-2 teachers district-wide are implementing an integrated curriculum. During our first K-2 cadres of the year, the department provided teachers with a session to help with planning and provided a model of what integration can look like in their classrooms.
After meeting with the school level professional development organizer, it was determined that one of their main concerns was the level of feedback teachers provided students. This training was specfically designed to meet the needs of their school.
For the past three years, I have had the opportunity to teach the reading endorsement to teachers in the county. Recently, I have taught the endorsement to TAPP candidates in the district.
